The Absolute Necessity of Prayer

Our Savior exemplifies the absolute necessity of prayer. As we examine His prayer life we will increase our understanding of the components of prayer and the necessity of an ongoing commune with God, in Jesus’ name. So important to Him was prayer, often He would go without food or sleep in order to spend time conversing with His Father. He knew the effectiveness of His work depended upon receiving instruction for the day, and the guidance of the Spirit.

No matter how busy our Lord was, He always took time to pray. Multitudes would follow and wait while Jesus took time to be alone to listen to His Father. But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.43 Jesus prayed and preached quoting from Old Testament scriptures. We, like Jesus, are to Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Praying in the YES of God Pg 53
