God has a plan for each of us to fill, since He created us for a particular purpose. What honor it would bring Him if we would allow Him to fulfill that plan in us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. It is His joy to give us the “desires of our heart.” He delights in our happiness.
If we would let Him guide and direct our pathway without resistance, or without first taking things into our own hands and creating problems for Him to resolve, we would experience more “fullness of joy.” “The ultimate object of our prayers should be for us to expect God’s leading and to allow His will to be done for us, with us, or through us.”
Praying in the “YES” of God
One of the greatest privileges given us is the privilege of prayer, the privilege of living in companionship with God. In the Holy Scriptures He has invited us ‘to come boldly’ into His presence. This invitation was given by the sacrifice of Jesus, who covers us with His robe of righteousness, and enables us to come before the Father. Jesus’ name opens the throne room of the universe.
Prayer is a special mode of communication that has been provided for our frequent use. At no additional charge we can take advantage of this opportunity anytime, day or night, wherever our location. No special equipment is required. Effective communication that builds this relationship does, however, have some requirements that must be met in order for us to make contact or expect to receive a response. These ‘requirements’ we will study throughout the book – “Living Volume One – Praying in the “YES” of God“.
“Faith is trusting God—believing that He loves us and knows best what is for our good. Thus it leads us to choose His way instead of our own. In place of our ignorance, it accepts His wisdom; in place of our weakness, His strength; in place of our sinfulness, His righteousness. Our lives are already His; faith acknowledges His ownership and accepts its blessing. Truth, uprightness, purity, have been pointed out as secrets of life’s success. Faith puts us in possession of these principles.
Every good impulse or aspiration is the gift of God. Faith receives from God the life that alone can produce true growth and efficiency.
Make very plain how to exercise faith. To every promise of God there are conditions. If we are willing to do His will, all His strength is ours. Whatever gift He promises is in the promise itself. The seed is the word of God.—Luke 8:11. As surely as the oak is in the acorn, so surely is the gift of God in His promise. If we receive the promise, we have the gift.” “Growing in the YES of God” – pg. 9

“Through these He has given us great and precious promises,
so that through them you may participate in the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”2 Peter 1:4
Please notice the word “promises” because it is one of the keywords of this verse. “Divine nature” are the other two keywords. Here we have a precious promise in this text that tells us that you and I today do not have to lead lives of failure. We do not have to lead lives of defeat or frustration. This text tells us that we may become partakers of the divine nature of God in our heart and in our life. This text not only tells you what you can have, but how you can have it.
According to our Bible, the way we can become partakers of the divine nature is through the promises of God’s word. There are over 7000 of them. Anyone can learn to know which promise is applicable, then claim it, and appropriate it in daily living. You can then have the entire power and resources of heaven at your disposal to help you live the kind of life the Christ wants you to live. That’s what Christianity is all about.
Live and Pray and Grow in the YES of God!
God knows your name! Do you believe that? Do you believe there even is a God? Well there is and He knows who you are, and is interested in your life! Do you believe He is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do?
When you pray, does it feel like no one is listening? Maybe you’re angry at God because your prayers seem not to be answered? Have you given up asking so that you aren’t disappointed because you just know that He won’t answer? Do you question His existence because He seems to quiet? What or who will you place your trust in if He’s really not listening? Well… the good news is… you are NOT alone with these questions. Do you want answers to those questions? Do you want to be able to face the unknown with the total and complete peace that GOD LOVES YOU!
In my latest book, Praying in the “YES” of God, you will find those answers and so much more. Live with triumphant faith, peace of mind, and enthusiastic testimony.
